Flexible Payment Options
Installment Payments
Spread out the total cost of your student’s tuition with a series of equal monthly payments. You can extend your payment plan through the last month of the last semester for which you are registering.
(For example, if you register in April for the upcoming fall and winter semesters, you can spread your payments up to 14 months (April of the current year through May of the following year). On the other hand, if you only register for the fall semester, you can only spread your payments over nine months because the fall semester ends in December.)
If you come back later and register for additional classes, you will have the option to erase your old payment schedule and create a new one that includes your existing and new enrollments. There is no additional cost for monthly payments, as long as you pay on time.
Multiple Payment Methods
Using a credit or debit card, you can pay in full or create a monthly payment schedule. Your first payment will be charged at the time of registration. If you select a monthly payment plan, you can choose the day of the month on which your subsequent monthly payments will be automatically charged.
Payment by check is due in full within 10 calendar days of your date of registration.
Satisfaction Guarantee
All courses come with a 100% money-back satisfaction guarantee (effective within 28 calendar days of the first day of the semester). We’ll issue a full refund for dissatisfied students within the guarantee period so you can make sure we’re the right fit. (No refunds will be issued after the 28-day period.)
-
Payment Policies
Late or Missed Payments
If a payment is declined because of insufficient funds, an expired card, an incorrect address, or for any other reason, our system will alert you via email and add a $25 administration fee per declined transaction to your balance. If you contact us within 5 business days to resolve the declined payment, we will remove the $25 fee.

Middle School Course Selection Guidelines
- 6/7 STEM courses operate on a rotating two-year curriculum in which students complete the A/B courses one year and the C/D courses the next.
- Humanities courses are available in Classic and Honors versions. Students in both versions meet together in the same live class sessions but Honors students complete roughly 30% more work. Students have 28 calendar days from the first day of the semester to move from one version to another.
- If you’re concerned your child may be overwhelmed by taking one of the above suggested course paths, we recommend not enrolling them in any electives.
- If your 8th-grader is advanced, you may get permission from an academic counselor to enroll your child in a 9th-grade math and/or writing course. Middle school students who take high school math may receive high school math credit.
- Our Second Language courses are designed for students in grades 9-12 and offered for high school credit. If your middle school student is interested and you feel they can successfully complete a self-paced, high school-level language course, please email support@williamsburglearning.com.
- Students may choose from live online, self-paced, and/or independent courses. Independent Studies courses are upon approval as they must meet state requirements. Please contact a school counselor if you have any questions.
- Most middle school core courses are offered exclusively in our live-online format. Math 6, 7, and 8, as well as some Electives, are available in the “self-paced” format.
- When possible, we recommend taking live-online courses over self-paced courses for the best academic experience and results. Self-paced courses should be selected only when needed.
- We suggest registering for both the fall and winter semesters simultaneously to ensure you get the best schedule for your child. If needed, you can adjust your child’s courses and schedule within the first 28 days of each semester.

High School Course Selection Guidelines
- High school students must enroll in at least four courses (2 of them being core). They may take up to 8 classes per semester. Some live courses are offered in both Classic and Honors versions. Students in both versions meet in the same live class sessions but Honors students complete roughly 30% more work. Students have 28 calendar days from the first day of the semester to switch from one version to another.
- If your student is advanced in math or writing, you can enroll them in a more advanced course. If your child has already earned accredited high school credit for one or more of the recommended courses above, they should work with an academic counselor to decide which course(s) to take instead.
- Students may choose from live online, self-paced, and/or independent courses. Independent Studies courses are upon approval as they must meet state requirements. Please contact a school counselor if you have any questions.
- Most high school core courses are offered in both our live-online and self-paced formats. Most Fine Arts, PE, and Electives courses are offered exclusively in the self-paced format.

Registration FAQs
-
Is my child eligible to register at Williamsburg Academy?
Yes! Williamsburg Academy Private School is a private online school available to students worldwide. You can pay privately for your student to take any number of courses with us, but we recommend registering for 4 or more courses for the best academic experience and results.
-
What are the benefits of registering my child full-time?
Results show that full-time students who enroll in the Williamsburg program (taking four or more courses) achieve higher grades, develop vital time management skills, and make deeper social connections with their peers and mentors. They also outperform their peers on ACT/SAT exams and are better equipped for life as adults after graduation.
-
Do I need to complete an application before registering my child?
No, our school runs on an open-enrollment basis, so there is no application process for you to complete before registering for classes!
-
Can my student transfer credit to Williamsburg?
Students can transfer credit into Williamsburg Academy that can count towards graduation. We evaluate credit transferred in from other schools according to the following guidelines:
- The credit must be earned in a regionally accredited school for grades 9-12.
- The transfer credit must meet Williamsburg’s academic standards.
- The transfer credit will be evaluated as to whether or not it satisfies one of Williamsburg’s graduation requirements. If not, it will be listed as an elective credit.
Transcripts from other schools should be sent to the Registrar’s office via email, fax, or postal mail.
-
What Are Williamsburg’s Registration Policies?
Parents Register for Students
At Williamsburg, parents complete the registration process for their students through our Student Information Services (SIS) system. Students are not permitted to register themselves.
First-Come, First-Serve
We currently let students register on a first-come-first-served basis. We do not have an official waiting list or queue. We have a limited number of seats in all our courses. We do not reserve seats for returning students, but we always notify current families when registration opens for a new semester.
Classics/Honors Window of Change Policy
Students have until the drop deadline, which is 28 calendar days from the first day of the semester, to switch between the Honors and Classic versions of a course. After the 28-day deadline, students may contact their mentor to request a transfer exception, which must be approved by the mentor’s Program Leader.
To ensure that students receiving credit for an Honors course have completed all required Honors-level work, students who are approved to transfer from a Classic course to an Honors course after the 28-day deadline will have to make up the work that has fallen due since the 28-day deadline.
