Weekly Parent Update – December 8, 2022

December 9, 2022

Next week will be the final week for your student this semester! I cannot believe it has gone so fast. I love to reflect and see the incredible growth in our students. It fills me with a deep sense of meaning and gratitude as I see wonderful leaders taking shape. That is the heart and soul of what we do here at Williamsburg Academy.

This weekend may be quite a busy one in your home as your students prepare for the end-of-semester deadline on December 13 at 9:00 PM MT for live classes and December 16 at 5:00 PM MT for self-paced courses. Below are a few practical tips to help your student finish the semester successfully.

  1. Review assignments in Canvas after the midterm deadline and ensure that your student has submitted as many as possible.
  2. Review any submitted assignments with a low score; there will be comments or feedback from the mentor on how to improve the grade.
  3. If your student can only complete some assignments by the deadline, please help them to prioritize and complete the assignments that hold a greater weight than others. You can find information about assignment group weighting on the homepage of each Canvas course.

I sincerely wish your student the best of success in their exams! I want to express how proud I am of them for being wonderful human beings first and also exceptional students.

Sincerely,

Ross Gilbert

Headmaster, Williamsburg Academy
