Create Your Student’s Logins

Your student needs an SIS account to view important info and access their online courses in Canvas. Click below for instructions if your student does not already have access to SIS or Canvas.

• View Login Instructions

  If your child is new to Williamsburg, they will need to start by creating their own SIS login. They should have received an invitation to create a login when added them as a student on your parent SIS account. (The invite gets sent to the email listed on your student’s SIS profile.) Please be sure to check that email inbox (and spam folder, if needed).

  Once your student is registered for courses and they have created an SIS login, our system will automatically generate a Canvas account for them. (Canvas is our online learning management system where students access all of their course content, including links to our online classrooms.)

  Before the first day of classes, your student will be notified that their courses are available to view in Canvas. They can log into Canvas with the same username and password they created for SIS.

  Please ask your student to log into Canvas prior to the start of classes. This is essential to make sure they can access all of their online course content.

Complete Student & Parent Orientation

To ensure the smoothest possible start of school for you and your student, it’s vital that you both complete orientation. For students, orientation takes place in Canvas shortly before school starts. For parents, you can access our helpful orientation videos right from our website.

• About Student Orientation

  Before the start of classes, your student will receive an email inviting them to complete their mandatory orientation assignments in Canvas.

  Please have your student log into Canvas, click on the Homeroom course, and then click Modules to get started.

  • New students need to complete all orientation tasks that are specifically labeled for new students under Williamsburg Academy, as well as any general tasks.
  • Returning students just need to complete all general tasks.

  Especially for new students, completing these orientation assignments is essential for understanding how our online learning systems and classrooms work. 

  If your student joins Williamsburg after the start of a semester, please have them complete orientation as soon as possible and reach out to their mentors or our Customer Support Team for any help.
