Register for Williamsburg Academy Courses
Once you’ve received an offer of admission from Sequoia, work with a Sequoia academic advisor to register for your student’s courses. If applicable, sign and submit any documents they request.
Note: Sequoia has created a unique registration process for students wishing to take Williamsburg courses. This process must be followed for them to pay your student’s tuition.
Once Sequoia approves your course selections, they will forward them to us, and we will make those courses available to your student in Canvas.
Things to Know and Expect
-
Williamsburg Courses are in Mountain Time
Because Williamsburg is based in Utah, course times are in Mountain Time, and we observe Daylight Savings. Your student will attend classes an hour earlier or later, depending on the time of year. Please keep this in mind when registering. You’ll receive reminders before the time changes in November and March.
-
Sequoia Will Be Your Student's School of Record
Parent guardians must enroll their student with Sequoia before registering for Williamsburg Courses. Once enrolled, Sequoia Choice becomes the student’s official school of record.
-
Students Must Agree to and Follow Sequoia's Expectations to Receive Funding
Parent guardians and their students must sign and agree to get course approval before registering for Williamsburg courses, communicate regularly with academic counselors, maintain/achieve minimum academic performance throughout the school year, etc. These expectations are vital for the student's success and Sequoia’s ability to host Williamsburg enrollments.
-
Parents Must Submit Weekly Attendance to Sequoia
Even though Williamsburg does not require attendance reporting, families are required to submit attendance to Sequoia Choice weekly.
-
Students are Required to Take Arizona Benchmark Assessments
It is crucial that Sequoia Choice/Williamsburg students take the Sequoia Choice benchmarks in a timely way, and in good faith. These benchmarks are required and are a great way to track a student’s progress in acquiring certain skills. They also help predict your student’s success on state-mandated tests required for graduation.
-
Sequoia Determines and Approves Eligibility
All enrollments and course selections are subject to approval by Sequoia Choice. High school students may enroll part or full-time, and middle school students can take the core courses plus one other elective course.
