Algebra 2A

Why take this course?

Algebra is like arithmetic, but with variables instead of numbers. That means that you already know most of the concepts of Math 3A on a fundamental level. Mastering algebra is just a matter of extending those fundamental concepts to a more abstract level. Learning to notice patterns and structure in simple situations and extend them to more abstract situations is something that can be used in all areas of life. Algebra trains the brain to think logically, and it teaches a whole new way of looking at the world. In Math 3A we will extend addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and fractions to polynomials. We will also extend the idea of inverse operations to exponential functions as we learn about logarithms.
