Why take this course?
If math is a language, then algebra is the grammar of that language. Everyone has mathematical ideas, but if you don’t know how to express a pattern as an equation or an action as a function, then you won’t be able to communicate those mathematical ideas effectively. Learn the language of math, and a whole new way of perceiving the world will open up to you. In Math 2A, we learn about exponential properties, quadratic functions, and extend the core concepts of arithmetic to polynomials. We also read classic math texts to expand our vision of how math appears in our world.
